I’ve been trolling around for good Stillers tunes and found yours. I’m probably showing my age but if this is a cover tune, can you reply (here or email) and let me know the original tune’s name and singer? I always appreciate these efforts so much more when I have the original to compare against. Also thanks for posting it on your blog! Well, to answer a few of your questions, I’m 21 years old. I’m from Pittsburgh, PA (currently living in Los Angeles to pursue my creative arts career including making music and doing animations). Specific “tidbits” about this song you requested… On Saturday night, my dad Ken Wiesinger and I wrote the lyrics over the phone, and 3-4 hrs later I had the whole thing recorded and ready to go. I played all the instruments including drums, guitar, bass, slide guitar, and added percussion to fill it out a bit. I also layered all the vocals to get a wider sound. On Monday morning, I sent it to the local Pittsburgh station 102.5 WDVE through e-mail, and I got a call from my sister an hour later saying she heard it on the radio! I’m a huge Steelers fan! I’m so glad to be part of all the pep rallies and excitement going into this historic game!
I’m gonna go right to my blog and update it with all the great stuff you’ve added for me. Here I thought you wrote it while you were home over Xmas. (Guess it makes sense that it’s newer than that, because at Xmas we didn’t know we were playing the Wild Card Cardinals, yoi!) It’s so new it still squeaks!
I grew up in Shaler and I’ll be in Monroeville on Sunday for a SBXLIII party at my cousin’s. I’m burning a CD with all these cool tunes on it (featuring yours), to pump us up before the game. I love DEAD BIRDS more each time I play it. I can see why DVE would snap it right up and get it on the air.
I am gonna have to keep an eye on you and your schedule (future trips back home) – you look like the real deal to me, so hang in there and work hard. We need a tour for Mean Mister Mustard to come east so you can play in Happy Valley…
