The Memorial Day Tunes

“New Dreams” was actually recorded earlier in the weekend (on Friday) not on Memorial Day like my previous post said. Sorry about the mix up. So, the three songs from Memorial Day itself are ”Angular Clouds,” ”The Procedure,” and “Let Her In.” I recorded all the parts with real instruments and voice. Here are the rough cuts of them…

“Angular Clouds” is a guitar solo piece on the Televarious (fretless tele). It’s almost too short, but I like it enough to use it on my next record. After I messed around for a few takes, what you hear here is one solo pass with no punch-ins.

“The Procedure” is a vocal song with a random 80’s sounding bridge. But I want to hear what the bridge sounds like to you people. Leave a comment if you want! “YOU PEOPLE?!?!?!?!” Who are you calling “YOU PEOPLE?!?!?!?!?”

“Let Her In” I’m not even gonna try to describe it. I want to hear “You People’s” thoughts!

Hey big little brother! That is a very beautiful little tune with a dreamy, wistful quality to it- it would be perfect for a memorial day hippie party- Just keep playing over and over for twenty five minutes and you have the makings of a stellar jam band!

let her in is kewl, vocals feel too far back though ):

procedure bridge needs fat casio synths cuz it’s so mondo-eighties(please don’t im kidding). but it would be WRONG any other way!

angular clouds could use some more planning, i wasn’t feeling it as much.

    all sounds groovy-tron.

    hey zack!
angular clouds has a good concept/idea. perhaps add some interesting percussion(congas, etc) & perhaps a touch of flute then let it roll for 15 or so minutes…that would make for an pretty cool jam.

let her in has a rather captivating and mysterious vibe to it.
a keeper for your next cd.

have a good one my friend!
    hello from deb!

@steve57, Yeah, I’m thinking about using excerpts from “Angular Clouds” to weave in and out between songs as a recurring theme. but maybe not! haha. Yeah, “Let Her In” is gonna make the cut, but I’m gonna tinker with the arrangement. Ok, have a great weekend.
