Steve Vai DVD

Hey Everyone, I am very excited to announce that Steve Vai is releasing his new DVD and CD counterpart of his 2007 String Theories World Tour, Where The Wild Things Are, of which I was included on a few selections playing the Lap Steel! Nearly two years of painstaking video editing and audio mixing and mastering later, Steve Vai will release his DVD and CD on Sept 29. I do mean painstaking. Every time I would stop by The Vai Estate to visit or drop something off, Steve would be diligently working on some aspect of the DVD day in and day out! He’s so particular about every last detail, and there is a lot to be said about all of his hard work and dedication to his craft! He’s probably the hardest working musician in the field, and I respect that and strive to adopt his work ethic in my everyday life.

Well, all his hard work paid off, because the few clips he showed me here and there, after all the audio and video was completed, look and sound amazing! I can’t wait to sit and watch the entire thing at the premiere in Hollywood’s historic Egyptian Theater on Sept 15th! So, for all of you Vai fans in the Los Angeles and surrounding areas, you are invited to the premier for a full screening of the DVD with red carpet entrance of the band members and silent auction. Tickets are $40 bucks and ALL the proceeds from tickets and auction benefit the Hollywood Arts organization of which Steve has been a board member for the past two years. I’ll be there! Hope to see you too! Click the picture above to get all details of ticket purchase and more info on the releases coming out!

yes ALOT of hours were put into this….which makes the premiere that much more EPIC! LA people should definitely go, this is more than just a “live” DVD, it’s a complete experience.

    Hey Zack,

That’s awesome! I’m gonna be down at the store to get that DVD first thing on Sept 29th. I saw you and Steve in Seattle about a week after the Hollywood Arts show. I would say that’s the best concert I’ve ever seen. From the time you came on stage and performed your solo act to the time Steve finished his set, I was in total amazement. Steve Vai has been my favorite musician for many years now. Every time I listen to his CDs, see him perform live, watch him on video, or read about his career, I think to myself, “He must be about the hardest working musician there ever was.” The man’s a freak. He’s got incredible work ethic and a talent to go with it. I really admire his work and I’m looking forward to seeing the DVD. I’m also looking forward to hearing your CD on the Favored Nations label. I’ll definitely be buying that one too. Will you be doing any DVDs on the label? I saw you play a version of “Red House” on youtube – you are fantastic. You got what it takes – keep up the hard work!

You failed to mention some of your stop-motion animation is included in the bonus track section of the DVD…laughed out loud. Very entertaining interview in between the action. Ever coming to San Antonio? Nearby?
